This article introduces features of rotomolding technique in detail.
1. The mold is simple and cost is low, which is suitable for manufacturing products with big size. The rotomolding mold needs to withstand high pressure and unnecessary for high intensity, so the structure is simple and easy to produce. Therefore, the rotomolding technique can be used to manufacture products of big size.
2. It is suitable for manufacturing various
rotomolding products. The mold is simple and it is convenient to change. Moreover, one machine can be installed with a large mold and several small molds. The machine can be operated with several sets of mold simultaneously. Thus, the rotomolding technique has more flexibility compared to other related technique.
3. It is suitable for manufacturing products with complicated shapes. Some other manufacturing methods are difficult to process products with complex figures. For instance, if a product has a convex structure or a double wall construction and other special configuration, rotational molding technique is the most suitable technique.
4.Saving raw material. When manufacturing a rotomodling product, the raw material will be added directly into the mold and after the process finish, the new material will be added for next production. There is no waste during the process. Besides, when the products need to change color, it’s unnecessary to clean machine and mold.
5. The rotomolding products are seamless and have uniform inner wall. Compared with blow molding and thermoforming, the rotomolding products are formed in one piece, there is no fusion line on products.
6.Rotoloding product is free from residual stress and not easy to be deformed. In the rotomolding process, the molten material subjected to tensile stress and shearing stress and compression stress are small, so there is no internal stress in the product.
